Conference Carolinas Cross Country Teams to Compete at NCAA Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Southeast Regional hosted by Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Wingate University Cross Country Course.
In the men’s 10k race, UNC Pembroke enters the event receiving votes in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Poll and are third in the Southeast Region rankings after winning the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship. Emmanuel is ranked sixth in the region followed by Southern Wesleyan who is ranked for the first time this season at No. 9.
Back-to-back Conference champion King leads the Conference Carolinas women’s programs as they enter the race ranked eighth in the Southeast Region with Converse ranked ninth and UNC Pembroke 10th.
The men’s 10k race will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the women’s 6k race at 11:15 a.m. Live results will be available here with live video available

The regional meet is a qualifying event for the championship finals. The top three teams at each of the eight regional championships will automatically advance to the championship finals while 10 at-large teams will be selected by the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Committee for a total of 34 teams.
In addition to team qualifications, the top two individuals who are not part of a qualifying team will automatically advance to the championship finals. All individuals who finish in the top five at the regional meet and are not part of a qualifying team will earn a bid to the championship finals and eight individuals will be selected as at-large qualifiers.
The championship finals will take place as part of the 2022 NCAA Division II Fall Festival on Friday, Dec. 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington. The official qualifiers will be released on Monday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
