Nicholas Marrone of Lees-McRae Captures Esports FIFA Invitational Title

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Nicholas Marrone of Lees-McRae captured the title in the second annual esports Conference Carolinas FIFA Invitational.
 
In the FIFA Invitational championship round both finalists played as Paris Saint-Germain.
 
Marrone faced off against Kieran Guillory of Barton in the championship round with Marrone winning 2-1 in game one before earning a 6-1 win in game two to collect the championship in the best-of-3 tournament.
 
The second annual Conference Carolinas FIFA Invitational featured esports member institutions Barton, Belmont Abbey, Erskine, King and Lees-McRae.
 
The 2022 Fall FIFA Invitational marked Conference Carolinas’ fifth esports championship. Erskine’s Carlos Murguia picked up the win in the inaugural Conference Carolinas FIFA Invitational in April of 2022.
 
Bryce Witt of Chowan won the inaugural Madden Invitational in 2020 with Barton’s Austin Hetter taking the title in 2021. Last year, Conference Carolinas held an NBA 2K21 championship with Deante Shackleford of Belmont Abbey securing the title.
 
Conference Carolinas partners with Launch Esports for its esports championships. Conference Carolinas and Launch Esports collaborated with EGF for the 2022 Conference Carolinas Fall FIFA Invitational.
