Lauren Beatty of Converse Repeats as Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Month
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lauren Beatty of Converse has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's cross country for October.
For the second time this season Beatty captured Freshman of the Month honors as she posted a pair of personal records and neared the program record in three races on the month.
She began the month with a personal best 5k time at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic with a time of 18:51.3 which was the second-ever sub-19:00 time in program history. That performance earned her Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors. The next week she posted a time of 18:31.4 at the Royals Challenge, another PR and just seven second shy of the school record. She closed the month with a time of 19:00.3 at the NCAA Division II Festival Year Showcase.
