Sydney Stigler of Lees-McRae Named Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Month of October
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Sydney Stigler of Lees-McRae has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women’s volleyball for October.
A 5-foot-9 outside hitter, Stigler posted five double-doubles in 12 matches and had eight double-digit kill efforts in the month. The Cincinnati, Ohio native posted a career-high 24 kills in a five-set loss to Erskine on Oct. 14 and added 12 digs and three service aces in the contest. She topped 15 digs in three matches in October with a high of 21 to go with 12 kills and one block in a win over Converse on Oct. 15. She earned Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors on Oct. 17 as she averaged 3.5 kills and 3.58 digs per set in three matches.
Stigler finished the month with 153 kills, 139 digs, 15 service aces and nine blocks. She ranks 11th in Conference Carolinas in kills (270) and 13th in points (312).
