Conference Carolinas Trio Earn AVCA Southeast Region Recognition
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the 2022 Division II All-Region teams and Conference Carolinas had three student-athletes recognized in the Southeast Region.
Brianna Warren of UNC Pembroke was named to the Southeast Region team while Abigail Durham of North Greenville and Taylor Roberts of Emmanuel each earned honorable mention accolades.
Warren, a first team All-Conference Carolinas selection, helped lead the Braves to the Conference Carolinas tournament title and the program’s first trip to the NCAA national tournament. A 6-foot-1 redshirt senior middle blocker from Indian Trail, North Carolina, Warren finished the season third in Conference Carolinas in hitting percentage at .347 with 291 kills in 681 total attempts, third in blocks per set with 1.04 and tied Roberts for the league lead with 133 blocks.
Durham, the two-time Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, finished the season leading the league with 469 total points for 4.11 per set. The 6-foot senior right side from Easley, South Carolina hit .236 on the year and led the league in total kills (416) and finished second in kills per set (3.65).
Roberts, the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, led Conference Carolinas with 133 total blocks and 1.24 blocks per set. The 6-foot-3 graduate middle blocker from Rome, Georgia also led Conference Carolinas with a .399 attack percentage with 282 kills on 567 total attempts.
Warren is eligible for AVCA All-America honors which will be released early next month.
