Conference Carolinas Well Represented in National and Regional Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas continues to have strong representation in regional and national polls with winter sports in full swing.

The week three NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) regular season media poll for men’s basketball has UNC Pembroke ranked 12th nationally with 220 points while the Braves are third in the Southeast Region with 49 points. Emmanuel also received votes in the region. The complete polls are available here.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) also released its third regular season poll and UNC Pembroke, who is 7-0 on the season, climbed one spot to No. 8 with 283 votes. The poll is available here.

The first regular season Super Region II men’s wrestling rankings were released this week and Lander topped the poll with 105 total points followed by UNC Pembroke (78), Belmont Abbey (62) and Mount Olive (62) to round out the top three. King is fifth with 56 points followed by Limestone (47), Newberry (40), Coker (16), Emmanuel (14) and Lincoln Memorial. Lander had six individuals hold the top spot at 133, 141, 174, 184, 197 and 285 pounds. Limestone (125), UNC Pembroke (149), King (157) and Mount Olive (165) each had one individual top their weight class. The complete poll is available here.
