SPARTANBURG, S.C. – King women’s cross country and UNC Pembroke men’s cross country took home the team titles at the 2022 Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg.
For the second consecutive season, King captured the team title by one point as the top-five runners each finished inside the top-20, led by Ashley Doyle who finished fifth to earn All-Conference Carolinas first team honors. This is the sixth championship for the Tornado and the third in four seasons. King head coach Brandon Ellis was named Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
Jackline Kosgei of UNC Pembroke took home both Runner of the Year honors with a first-place time of 22:06.0 while Lauren Beatty of Converse earned Freshman of the Year accolades with a third-place finish in a time of 23:08.9.
