UNC Pembroke Named No. 6 seed in Southeast Regional of NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. – After capturing the program’s second consecutive Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Championship title, UNC Pembroke discovered their opponent in the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer National Championship which begins on Friday, Nov. 11.
UNC Pembroke is 16-2-2 and received the No. 6 seed in the Southeast Region where they will square off against Flagler (13-3-2) on Friday at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to the second round on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. They will face the winner of seventh-seed Wingate (11-4-4) and No. 2 seed Catawba (15-3-2). The games will all be played at Catawba.
The Braves are led by Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and tournament MVP, Anna Grossheim, and a dominant defense led by All-Conference Carolinas first team goalkeeper Chiara Coppin. They enter the tournament having allowed just 12 goals in 20 games, .60 per game. The Braves average nearly three goals per game and have an .864 save percentage. This is the sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament for UNC Pembroke (2008, 2010, 2017, 2019, 2021) and their second automatic bid.
