Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke, Ansley Robinson of North Greenville Earn United Soccer Coaches Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - The United Soccer Coaches released the 2022 NCAA Division II Scholar All-Region and All-American teams on Thursday afternoon and a pair of Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized.
Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke was named Women’s Soccer All-Region and All-American First Team as a midfielder while Ansley Robinson of North Greenville earned All-South Region Second Team honors as a defender.
Grossheim, a junior with a 3.99 grade point average in Sociology, was the Conference Carolinas women’s soccer Player of the Year, a College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-America®, a second team United Soccer Coaches All-American midfielder and a first team D2 CCA All-American.
The Garner, North Carolina native led Conference Carolinas in shots (113), shots on goal (54), goals (14) and assists (11) and shared the league perch with five game-winning goals, on the way to a career-best 39 points. She scored at least one point (goal or assist) in 12 outings this season, including multi-score efforts against Converse, Emmanuel, Barton and North Greenville. She was named United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week on October 26 as well.
Robinson is a senior with a 3.74 GPA as a Biology major for the Crusaders. The 2021 USC Women’s Soccer Scholar All-America Third Team selection and 2022 Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year was also a 2022 D2 CCA All-Region selection. A native of Greer, South Carolina, Robinson led a defense that allowed five goals in 12 conference games, a .42 average per contest. Overall, Robinson helped NGU allow just 19 goals in 18 games for a 1.06 average per contest.
