Logan Seliga of UNC Pembroke and Zeth Brower of Lander Share South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Logan Seliga of UNC Pembroke and Zeth Brower of Lander both collected the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas men’s wrestling weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 18, 2022.
A redshirt sophomore from Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Seliga tallied a 5-0 mark at the Midwest Classic to claim the 125-pound bracket at the prestigious event. He picked up three bonus-point victories, including an injury default a minute into the championship match against Brendon Garcia of Adams State. In addition, he also upset fourth-ranked Brandon Mendoza of Tiffin (5-3 decision) in the semifinals.
A redshirt junior from Medford, Oregon, Brower earns South Atlantic Conference Carolinas weekly honors for the second time this season. The reigning NCAA Division II national champion at 141 pounds, Brower helped lead nationally fourth-ranked Lander to a third-place team finish at the prestigious Midwest Classic. Brower went a perfect 5-0 at 141 pounds en route to the 2022 Midwest Classic title in the weight class. Battling in the semifinals against No. 6 Christian Small of Lake Erie, Brower would take the win with a first-period pin. Brower was leading 6-2 before landing the pin. Brower came away with a first-place trophy after he defeated Peter Kuster of Drury, 9-2.
