Laila Anderson of Mount Olive Named Women's Basketball Freshman of the Month
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Laila Anderson of Mount Olive has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's Basketball for November.
A 5-foot-5 freshman guard, Anderson averaged 9.67 points and 1.17 rebounds per game while playing primarily off the bench last month for the Trojans. The Burlington, North Carolina native averaged nearly 25 minutes per game and shot 30 percent from the field, 29 percent from the 3-point arc and 75 percent from the free throw line.
She scored double-digit points in four of the six games she played in the month. Anderson had her best career game against Chowan on Nov. 30 as she scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed six steals. She totaled 11 steals, seven rebounds and five assists on the month to go with 58 total points in six games.
