Conference Carolinas SAAC Continues to Make an Impact
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas released its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Impact numbers through January and league institutions have tallied over 9200 hours of community service and raised over $2,800 for Make-A-Wish.
Beginning in 2003, NCAA Division II SAAC created a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Division II has raised more than $6.6 million entering this season and Conference Carolinas has added to that number this year. Mount Olive moved up two spots to take the conference lead with $1,000 raised through January. UNC Pembroke is second with $671.58 while Converse is third with $534.48. In the community, Belmont Abbey leads the way in service hours with 3,176 through January. Lees-McRae is close behind with 2,946.5 hours of service followed by Barton who has totaled 1,691 hours.
