Bryson Boyette and Kris Jackson of Barton and Samuel Trueba of King Named Men’s Golfers of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Bryson Boyette and Kris Jackson of Barton and Samuel Trueba of King have been selected as the Conference Carolinas Golfers of the Week for men’s golf for the week ending Feb. 15.
The three golfers all tied for 12th with three-day totals of 224 at the Lincoln Memorial Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate at St. John’s Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida on Feb. 14-15. Barton and King also tied for 11th in the tournament with 54-hole totals of 914.
A senior from Wilson, North Carolina, Boyette earned his third Golfer of the Week honor thanks to seven birdies and 36 pars. He opened the three-day event with a one-over 73, followed by a second round 77 before wrapping up the tournament with a 74.
Jackson, Boyette’s teammate and a native of Greenville, North Carolina, tallied nine birdies in the tournament with five coming in a final round 73. The junior opened the tournament with a 75 and carded a second round 76.
A native of Pedrena, Spain, Trueba earned his second Golfer of the Week honor with nine birdies and 31 pars. The junior opened the two-day tournament with a 75 followed by a 73 before carding a 76 in the final round.
