UNC Pembroke, Barton Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Polls
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas had two schools ranked in the second NCAA Southeast Region Men’s and Women’s Basketball Polls, which were released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
In the men’s poll, UNC Pembroke is ranked sixth at 23-2 overall, despite being ranked No. 8 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches poll. The Braves are 21-2 in league play and are riding a four-game win streak with their regular season finale slated for Thursday, Feb. 24.
In the women’s NCAA Region rankings Barton was No. 7 while being the top-ranked team in the region in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll at No. 7 in the nation with 422 points. The Bulldogs, who are 25-1 overall and 21-1 in league play, are the No. 1 seed in the Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Championships and are riding a 19-game win streak.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
