Conference Carolinas Announces 2022 Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. –
It has been quite a first season in Conference Carolinas for UNC Pembroke as the program has been ranked as high as No. 5 in the NABC poll and captured the 2021-22 regular season championship as well as the top seed in the conference tournament. 

The Braves, who finished the regular season 25-2 overall and 22-2 in Conference Carolinas action, have won five straight games and have earned a bid to the tournament semifinals which will take place inside Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday, March 5 at 12 p.m. 

Emmanuel, the 2020-21 regular season champion, is 19-8 overall and 18-5 in league play as the No. 2 seed in the tournament. The Lions earn the second bye to the semifinals and will play at 2:30 p.m. on March 5.

By virtue of winning the regular season finale over Southern Wesleyan, Belmont Abbey enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed with a record of 19-9 overall and 17-7 in league play. The Crusaders will play on Friday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals in Spartanburg. The Warriors (18-9, 16-7 CC) earned the four seed and will play in the other quarterfinal at 11 a.m. 

Mount Olive is the fifth seed with a record of 15-12, 14-9 in league action. The will host eighth-seeded King (14-14, 11-13 CC) and ninth-seeded Francis Marion (12-14, 10-14 CC) for the first and second rounds on Sunday, Feb. 27 and Monday, Feb. 28. The first round will be played at 5 p.m. with the second round at 7 p.m.

With a win over Lees-McRae in the regular season finale, Barton (15-13, 13-11 CC) earned the No. 6 seed and the right to host the other first and second round site with the seventh-seeded Bobcats (14-13, 12-12 CC) and No. 10 Chowan (8-17, 8-15 CC) squaring off on Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. The winner will face the Bulldogs on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.
