GREENVILLE, S.C.– Conference Carolinas, in partnership with the Great Midwest American Conference, announced that Liberty Lanes will host the inaugural men’s and women’s bowling championships.
The 2022 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championships are scheduled for Friday, March 25 through Sunday, March 27 at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, North Carolina.
“We are thrilled to be able to host the first Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Men’s and Women’s Bowling Championship,” Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “The ability to offer our membership championship opportunities, especially in non-NCAA sports such as men’s bowling, is a unique chance for us to continue to lead the way in Division II athletics. Liberty Lanes is a terrific venue and we look forward to a fun weekend.”
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference is also excited to sponsor this new championship.
"Liberty Lanes will be a great facility for the inaugural Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Bowling Championships and we are thankful for the opportunity to conduct this event in the Gastonia community," Great Midwest Commissioner Tom Daeger said. "This unique partnership between our conferences generates enhanced competition opportunities for our student-athletes and I am eager to see them participate in such a quality venue."
Liberty Lanes is a family-friendly bowling center that caters to all skill levels of bowlers with 32 bumper friendly lanes and an in-house pro shop. They too are looking forward to opening their doors to collegiate bowlers.
“We are excited to be able to add the Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Bowling Championships to our growing list of tournaments,” said owner Bill Martin. “We have experience hosting several PBA events each year and are excited to have the NCAA join that list.”
