Zaria Clark of UNC Pembroke Named Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Month for January
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Zaria Clark of UNC Pembroke has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's basketball for January.
A guard from Stanley, North Carolina, Clark averaged 9.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.25 steals per game. She averaged 26.1 minutes per game and shot 93 percent (26-for-28) from the free throw line, 37 percent (23-for-63) from the field and 33 percent (3-for-9) from the 3-point arc. In a win over Barton on Jan. 13, Clark logged a career-best 16 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a 12-points, 10-rebound double-double in a win over Francis Marion on Jan. 6.
On the week, Clark scored 75 points and grabbed 61 rebounds to go with 10 steals and six assists as the Braves finished the month 4-4.
Clark has won all three women's basketball Freshman of the Month honors.
