Hayden Moffat of North Greenville and Andrew Avarello of Mount Olive Named First Weekly Award Winners of 2022 for Men’s Lacrosse
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Hayden Moffat of North Greenville and Andrew Avarello of Mount Olive have picked up the first weekly honors of the 2022 men’s lacrosse season in Conference Carolinas for the week ending Feb. 6.
Moffat was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Avarello collected Defensive Player of the Week honors.
A freshman attacker from Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, Moffat finished North Greenville’s season-opening 12-3 home victory over Young Harris on Feb. 5 with four goals (two unassisted). He also had an assist in the win.
The reigning Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, Avarello closed out 14
th-ranked Mount Olive’s 11-7 season-opening victory over Coker with 18 saves. The preseason All-American also picked up one ground ball in the victory.
