Abby Craver of Belmont Abbey Picks Up Inaugural Freshman of the Month Honor for Softball

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Abby Craver of Belmont Abbey has been named the inaugural Freshman of the Month for the 2022 Conference Carolinas softball season.
 
A freshman from Clemmons, North Carolina, Craver made nine appearances in the circle in February for Belmont Abbey. She made seven starts. Craver pitched four complete games and she had three shutouts over the course of the first month of the season.
 
Over the course of the month, Craver held her opponents to a .212 batting average and she owned a 1.14 earned run average in 42.3 innings pitched. She had 41 strikeouts.
 
Craver also started nine games as a position player/designated player in February. She was fourth on the team in batting average at .381 (8-for-21). Four of her eight hits in February were extra-base hits (two doubles and two home runs).
