Kylie Emanuele and Hannah Killough of Mount Olive Selected Softball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kylie Emanuele and Hannah Killough of Mount Olive have been named the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas softball for the week ending March 13, 2022.
Emanuele was selected as the Player of the Week, while Killough picked up Pitcher of the Week honors. Both student-athletes earned their second weekly honor of the 2022 campaign.
A junior from Corona, California, Emanuele closed out Mount Olive’s four wins last week hitting .538 with seven RBIs and seven runs scored. She had four extra-base hits on two doubles and two home runs. Emanuele owned a slugging percentage of 1.154 and an on-base percentage of .571. In Mount Olive’s conference-opening game one win over Francis Marion on March 8, Emanuele went 2-of-3 with three runs scored and one RBI. She had a home run in the game. Her best game on the week came in going 3-for-3 with five RBIs and three runs scored in a game one win over Shaw on March 13. She had two doubles and a home run in the victory.
A junior from Pageland, South Carolina, Killough was strong last week in the circle in 11 innings pitched. She allowed her opponents to hit just .184 and struck out 11. She first pitched all nine innings in Mount Olive’s thrilling 1-0 conference-opening victory over Francis Marion. In dealing two more innings than expected, Killough nevertheless struck out six. She pitched the first two innings in Mount Olive’s game one win over Shaw on March 13, striking out five.
