Mason Chaney of Barton, Thomas Sullivan of Belmont Abbey Named to USILA/Dynamic Team of the Week
MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) released its 2022 Division II Dynamic Team of the Week for the week of March 14 and Mason Chaney of Barton and Thomas Sullivan of Belmont Abbey were two of 10 players who earned recognition from the organization for their exceptional performances in their program's games this past week.
A sophomore attack from Dunkirk, Maryland, Chaney led Barton to two wins last week with nine goals and four assists. The Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week also had nine ground balls and two caused turnovers. In Barton’s 20-8 win over Davis & Elkins on March 9, Chaney had six goals on six shots on goal. Chaney also had two assists in the victory. In Barton’s 15-10 victory over Lander, Chaney finished his efforts with three goals and two assists.
A sophomore goalie from North Babylon, New York, Sullivan made 20 saves and allowed only six goals in Belmont Abbey’s 10-6 victory over No. 12 Queens on March 12. The Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week also picked up two ground balls in the game.
The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) is an organization comprised of member colleges and universities which sponsor intercollegiate lacrosse for men.
The Association is entrusted to enhance and develop intercollegiate lacrosse by providing leadership, management, and services to its membership so that student-athletes, coaches, and other constituent groups will realize the maximum benefit from the sport of lacrosse.
