Bryson Boyette of Barton and Samuel Trueba of King Named Men’s Golfers of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Bryson Boyette of Barton and Samuel Trueba of King have been selected as the Conference Carolinas Golfers of the Week for men’s golf for the week ending March 1.
A senior from Wilson, North Carolina, Boyette captured tied for individual medalist honors at the Spring Bulldog Clash at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina to earn his fourth Golfer of the Week honor this season. He opened the 54-hole tournament with a two-under 68, scored a one-under 69 in round two and capped the tournament with a four-under 66 for a two-day total of 203. He led all golfers in the event in par 4 (-4) and par 5 (-6) scoring and tallied 36 pars, 11 birdies and an eagle to help the Bulldogs to a fourth-place team finish.
A native of Pedrena, Spain, Trueba earned his second Golfer of the Week honor with a win at the Hurricane Invitational at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Georgia. Trueba captured individual medalist honors with a nine-under 207 in the 54-hole tournament. He opened with a first round 69 (-3), carded a five-under 67 in round two and finished with a one-under 71. He led all golfers in par 5 scoring (-8) and birdies (17) and tied for second in par 3 scoring (-2). King finished 14th as a team.
