KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the 2022 NABC Division II All-District Teams and District Coaches of the Year. KJ Jones II of Emmanuel and Spencer Levi of UNC Pembroke were named to the Southeast Second Team while Drew Richards of UNC Pembroke was named Co-Coach of the Year.

The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II.

Levi was tabbed as the Player and Defensive Player of the Year in Conference Carolinas. The St. Louis, Missouri native is the first player in league history to win both awards. The 6-foot-8 forward helped lead the Braves to the regular season crown in the school’s return to Conference Carolinas. Levi averaged 15.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting better than 70 percent from the field. He notched 10 double-doubles this season and is the eighth NABC All-District selection in program history.

Richards led the Braves to its best record (27-4) in school history, while also skippering the team to a school record 16-game win streak from Nov. 30 to Feb. 5. UNCP paced Conference Carolinas in nine statistical categories and is tops among more than 300 NCAA Division II squads in both rebounding margin (+12.3) and offensive rebounds per game (15.6). The Braves also won the Conference Carolinas regular season crown on the way to securing the eighth NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

The 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year and a first team choice in 2021-22, Jones averaged 20.7 points and 4.4 assists per game during the 2021-22 season. An NABC All-American in the 2020-21 season, the Atlanta, Georgia native and 6-foot-6 guard also led Conference Carolinas in steals with 2.1 per game.
