Joshua Kim of King Named AVCA Men’s DI-II National Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Joshua Kim of King has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men’s DI-II National Player of the Week.
A senior right side from Garden Grove, California, Kim finished King’s two wins last week averaging 5.00 kills per set. In total, Kim had 35 kills, six blocks and five digs in the two King victories. He hit an impressive .323 in the wins over Emmanuel and Erskine. In King’s four-set road win at Emmanuel on March 25, Kim hit .316 and posted 19 kills, five digs, three blocks and one service ace. He followed that up by collecting 16 kills to go along with three blocks in King’s road sweep of Erskine on March 26. He hit .333 in the match.
Kim is the second student-athlete from King to earn the honor, joining Kiel Bell who was honored on April 10, 2018. He is also the first Conference Carolinas student-athlete to win the honor since Vasilis Mandilaris of Barton did so on January 22, 2019.
