Conference Carolinas has 50 Student-Athletes Named 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region

NEW ORLEANS, La. All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and Conference Carolinas had 50 student-athletes representing nine institutions earn the distinction.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region’s top-3 relay teams.

Mount Olive led all conference programs with 17 all-region performers while UNC Pembroke had nine and Southern Wesleyan had eight recognized. Emmanuel had five on the list, North Greenville and Lees-McRae each had four and Barton, Converse and King each had one student-athlete recognized. 

Of the 50 selections, Conference Carolinas had seven top region performers in the Southeast Region. Mount Olive had two top performers, one each in the men’s and women’s weight throw, in Jon Wojcuich and Mary Brigid Keck. Jharna Alston and Clara Heiss represented Emmanuel with top marks in the 200m and pole vault, respectively. Lees-McRae’s Zai Fraser has the top mark in the triple jump, Hannah Hill of North Greenville is the top performer in the 400m and Orlandus Gamble of UNC Pembroke tops the region in the high jump.
