Isabelle Flores of Belmont Abbey and Mary Brigid Keck of Mount Olive Capture First Weekly Outdoor Track & Field Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Isabelle Flores of Belmont Abbey and Mary Brigid Keck of Mount Olive have been chosen as the first weekly award winners of the 2022 outdoor track & field season for Conference Carolinas.
Flores was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while Keck captured Field Athlete of the Week honors.
A freshman from Orange Park, Florida, Flores captured the top time in the 400 hurdles in Conference Carolinas so far this season. Her time of 1:04.91 at the SWU/Susan Rouse Invite is good for third nationally so far in the early part of the NCAA Division II outdoor season. Her time of 15.40 this past weekend in the 100 hurdles is also third-best in Conference Carolinas. Both times set school records and also allowed her to take top individual honors in the events at the SWU/Susan Rouse Invite.
A junior from Newark, Ohio, Keck posted a new school record and the best mark in Conference Carolinas so far this outdoor season in the shot put at 13.60m (44' 7.5") at the UNCW Invitational. She also captured first place at the UNCW Invitational and secured the top mark in Conference Carolinas so far in the discus at 41.99 (137' 9"). Keck finished second to teammate Candy Lockett in the hammer with a mark of 47.53m (155' 11"). Lockett collected an NCAA provisional mark in the event at 54.61m (179' 2").
