Ayanna Manning of Converse Named National Freshman of the Week by NCATA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ayanna Manning of Converse has been selected as the national Freshman of the Week by the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA).
 
A freshman from Abingdon, Maryland, Manning competed in nine heats and the team event in No. 7 Converse’s dual meet win over No. 12 Presbyterian College last week. She helped Converse to three scores of 9.5 or higher, which included a 9.85 in the inversion pyramid, a 9.7 in the compulsory pyramid and a 9.55 in the compulsory toss.
 
Manning recorded an 8.55 out of a 9.10 in the open tumbling pass. She competed as a tumbler, back base, mid-level base and bottom base throughout the course of Converse’s victory.
