Zaria Clark of UNC Pembroke Sweeps Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Month Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Zaria Clark of UNC Pembroke swept each of the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month honors for the sport of women’s basketball as she earned the final honor for her play in the month of February.
A guard from Stanley, North Carolina, Clark averaged 26.6 minutes, 10.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in a 7-2 month for the Braves. She shot 41.1 percent (37-for-90) from the field and was 20-for-20 from the charity stripe while also grabbing a team-high 72 rebounds during the month. Her 15 steals were second on the team in the month and she scored in double figures six times and had double-figure rebounds four times.
In a 63-63 win over Mount Olive on Feb. 16, she scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the month. She closed out the month with a career night with 18 points, 13 rebounds and four steals against North Greenville in a 68-41 win on Feb. 24.
