Belmont Abbey Claims 36-hole Lead at 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship
RESULTS | TOURNAMENT WEBSITE | SNOW HILL, N.C. – Belmont Abbey posted a second round 289 to climb atop the leaderboard after 36 holes at the 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina on Monday, April 11. Ben Loudermilk of Belmont Abbey leads the tournament with a two-day 143 after a second round four-under 68.
Loudermilk, who improved four spots, finished the par-72, 6,994-yard course with seven birdies in round two and is tied with Brice Ballin of Mount Olive for the tournament lead with 10 birdies over two days. Loudermilk leads the tournament in par 3 scoring (-1) and is tied for second in par 5 scoring (-3).
Ballin is currently second with an even-par 144 (74-70) while Bryson Boyette (75-70) of Barton and Laurenz Meifels (73-72) of Erskine are tied for third at 145.
The Crusaders hold a three stroke lead over Erskine who carded a 296 on Monday for a two-day 598 (302-296). Barton is third at 601 (304-297), Mount Olive is fourth at 602 (306-296) and King is fifth at 604 (309-295). North Greenville is sixth (607) followed by Southern Wesleyan (613), Emmanuel (622) and Chowan (637).
The third and final round of the Championship will begin at 9 a.m. with groups going off the first and 10th tees.
