Cameron Cooper and Alannah Browne of Belmont Abbey Pick Up Softball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Cameron Cooper and Alannah Browne of Belmont Abbey have been selected as the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas softball for the week ending April 10, 2022.
Cooper was chosen as the Player of the Week, while Browne was named the Pitcher of the Week.
A senior from Columbia, South Carolina, Cooper finished a perfect 6-0 week for Belmont Abbey hitting .556 (10-of-18) with 10 RBIs and eight runs scored. She had four extra-base hits on two doubles and two home runs. Cooper owned a slugging percentage of 1.000 and an on-base percentage of .619. She had four multi-hit games in Belmont Abbey’s six league wins on the week. Cooper also stole three bases.
A junior from Suwanee, Georgia, Browne was 3-0 in the circle last week. She also collected Belmont Abbey’s first save of the season. In 20.0 innings in the circle overall, Browne struck out 13 and held her opponents to a .211 batting average.
