King Claims 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship

RESULTS | TOURNAMENT WEBSITE | SNOW HILL, N.C. –  King, who entered the day fifth after 36-holes, carded a five-under par 283 to win the 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship at Cutter Creek Golf Club. 
 
Alex Bradford led the Tornado in the final round with a three-under 69 while Samuel Trueba and Jose Luis Garcia Jimenez each posted one-under 71 on the final day. 
 
Brice Ballin of Mount Olive earned individual medalist honors thanks to a final round five-under 67 to win by three strokes with a five-under 211 (74-70-67). Bryson Boyette of Barton was the only other golfer to finish the 54-hole tournament under par with a two-under 214 (75-70-69).
 
Ballin finished the tournament as the leader in birdies with 16 and tied five others with one eagle. The par 72, 6,994-yard course played to an average score of 76.82 with the lowest average coming on Tuesday afternoon at 75.78. 
 
King finished the tournament with an 887 (309-295-283), three strokes better than Barton (304-297-289). Mount Olive finished third with an 892 (306-296-290) while Erskine (302-296-297) and Belmont Abbey (306-289-300) tied for fourth at 895 to round out the top five. 
 
With the three stroke victory, King claims the automatic bid to the NCAA Southeast Regional which will  be held May 5-7 at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia. The championship finals will be held at TPC Michigan in Detroit, Michigan May 16-20.
