Ayanna Manning of Converse Named NCATA Freshman of the Week for the Second Time This Season

GREENVILLE, S.C. -  The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) announced its week 10 awards and Conference Carolinas student-athlete Ayanna Manning of Converse earned Freshman of the Week honors. 
 
A freshman from Abingdon, Maryland, Manning was selected as the Freshman of the Year in Conference Carolinas.
 
The Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month in February, Manning was also selected as the NCATA Freshman of the Week for the fifth week of the season. She was named Honorable Mention by the NCATA for their weekly honors four times over the course of the regular season.
 
A base and tumbler, Manning competed in 11 heats during the semifinals and finals of the Conference Carolinas Championships last weekend. Her performance included nine heats that scored a 9.50 or higher during the championship event. She also helped lead Converse to Conference Carolinas event titles in the inversion pyramid, synchronized toss and trio tumbling pass.
