Barton, Belmont Abbey Ranked in First NCAA Men’s Golf Southeast Region Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton and Belmont Abbey represented Conference Carolinas in the first NCAA Southeast Region Men’s Golf Rankings, which were released by the NCAA on Thursday.
Barton, the 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship runner-up, is ranked seventh in the regional rankings and 17th in the latest Golfstat rankings. The Bulldogs have averaged 288.33 per round in 30 rounds over 10 tournaments this season with three event wins, six top-5 and nine top-10 finishes. The 10th tournament was an 11th-place finish.
The No. 9 team in the region, Belmont Abbey is 20th in the latest Golfstat rankings. The Crusaders have one event win, nine top-5 and 10 top-10 finishes with a 289.82 per round average over 33 rounds in 11 tournaments.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
