David Hooper, Jr. of Emmanuel and Alex Linnenbrink of Lincoln Memorial Named NCBCA All-Americans

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) announced the 2021-22 All-America teams and a pair of Conference Carolinas student-athletes were recognized. 

David Hooper, Jr. of Emmanuel was named second team All-America while Conference Carolinas Freshman and Bowler of the Year Alexander Linnenbrink earned honorable mention accolades. 

A first team All-Conference Carolinas recipient and Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest All-Tournament team selection, Hooper currently ranks 10th in the USBC with a 213.204 average with one event win, four top-five and top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes in eight events. A senior from Greenville, South Carolina, Hooper helped lead the Lions to a runner-up finish at the inaugural Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Conference Championship. He was also a three-time Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week.

A native of Fairport, New York, Linnenbrink averaged 211.7 over 40 games this season and ranks 14th in the USBC with two event wins, two top-five, six top-10 and six top-25 finishes in eight events this season. In eight events this season, Linnenbrink won two events and recorded six top-10 finishes. The freshman picked up wins at the Roto Grip Raider Classic and the Lincoln Memorial Challenge while also leading the Railsplitters to the Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Championship title. Linnenbrink was also a three-time Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week and three-time Freshman of the Month.
