Conference Carolinas Announces 2022 Softball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the first time in nine seasons and second time in program history the King softball program claimed at least a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season championship and the top seed in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Softball Championship which begins on Thursday, April 28 at Tyger River Park in Duncan, S.C.

King enters the postseason 37-15 overall and 18-6 in league play riding an 11-game win streak. They will face the winner of No. 8 Lees-McRae (20-24) and No. 9 North Greenville (20-28) on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. The Bobcats and Crusaders will meet at 12 p.m. in an elimination game.

Mount Olive, who was co-regular season champion, earned the two-seed with a 39-11 overall mark and 18-6 league record. The Trojans will put their six-game win streak on the line when they face the winner of No. 7 UNC Pembroke (25-15) and No. 10 Erskine (13-26) on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Braves and Flying Fleet will play in an elimination game at 12 p.m. on Thursday.

Barton (28-10) earned the third seed and will kick off the double-elimination portion of the bracket against No. 6 Emmanuel (35-20) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. In the other 4:30 p.m. contest, No. 4 Belmont Abbey (30-13) will face No. 5 Francis Marion (29-18).

The quarterfinals of the championship bracket will take place at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 29 with consolation games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, April 30, will feature the consolation semifinals at 12 p.m., the winner's bracket semifinal at 2 p.m. and the consolation championship at 4 p.m. The championship final is slated for 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 with the “if necessary” game at 2 p.m.
