All-Conference Honors for Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Unveiled

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas officially unveiled the 2021-22 women's tennis all-conference honors on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
 
The all-conference awards were chosen by the league's head coaches. 
 
A freshman from Ballito, South Africa, Paige Wise of Francis Marion was selected as the Player of the Year in Conference Carolinas after finishing the regular season a perfect 15-0 in singles. Wise was 11-0 in conference matches in singles. She also collected eight wins in doubles over the course of the regular season. With the program in its first year in the league, Wise is the first from Francis Marion to be chosen as a major award winner in Conference Carolinas women's tennis.

A freshman from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Solent Gonzalez of Emmanuel was chosen as the Freshman of the Year in Conference Carolinas. She was 10-1 during the regular season in singles and went 9-2 in conference doubles play. Since the Lions began competing in Conference Carolinas in 2015, Gonzalez is the first women's tennis student-athlete from Emmanuel to win a major all-conference award. 
 
First-year head coach Carlos Lora of Mount Olive was named as the Coach of the Year for Conference Carolinas women's tennis after leading the Trojans to a regular-season title and a perfect 11-0 mark in league play. According to Conference Carolinas records, Lora is the first from Mount Olive to be named Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year in women's tennis.
