King, Francis Marion Remain Ranked in NCAA Softball Southeast Region

GREENVILLE, S.C. – King and Francis Marion represented Conference Carolinas in the second NCAA Southeast Region Softball Rankings, which were released by the NCAA on Wednesday. 
 
King, the 2022 Conference Carolinas co-regular season champions, finished the regular season 37-15 overall and 18-6 in league play and are ranked fifth in the region. The Tornado have won 11 straight games and finished the regular season third in hitting with a .314 average and fifth in ERA at 3.42. 
 
Francis Marion was ranked 10th in the region with an overall record of 29-18, all in-region games, with a 15-9 league mark which earned them the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament which begins on Thursday, April 28 at Tyger River Park in Duncan, South Carolina. The Patriots are hitting .302 as a team this season and have pitched to a 3.09 ERA.
 
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee leading up to the NCAA Championship selections.
