SUMTER, S.C. - The 2022 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championship first round and quarterfinals at the Palmetto Tennis Center provided a fantastic display of the level of Conference Carolinas women's tennis.

The women's tennis teams had some tremendous matches on the opening day of the championship. In the first round, fifth-seeded Barton bested eighth-seeded Converse, 4-2, to move on to the semifinals to challenge fourth-seeded Emmanuel. In the other first round matchup, seventh-seeded Belmont Abbey garnered a thrilling 4-3 team win over sixth-seeded Lees-McRae to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Crusaders gave third-seeded Erskine all they could handle in the quarterfinals, but the Flying Fleet emerged with the narrow 4-3 victory that moved them on to the semifinals at 2 p.m. on Saturday to face second-seeded Francis Marion. Emmanuel was able to pick up a 4-3 victory over Barton in the other quarterfinal. The Lions will face top-seeded Mount Olive in the semifinals.
