RESULTS | TOURNAMENT WEBSITE | HARTWELL, Ga. –  After the first round of the 2022 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Georgia, UNC Pembroke sits atop the team standings with a 314 while the Braves' Toni Blackwell is the individual leader with a 75.

Blackwell finished the par 71, 5,760-yard course with 11 pars and a pair of birdies to claim the first round lead. It's a slim margin though as three players, Sydney Grimes of Converse, Allie Cobb of Emmanuel and Kaylee Ong of Belmont Abbey, are tied for second just one stroke back. Georgia Page, Blackwell's teammate, rounds out the top five with a 77.

Page led all golfers with three birdies on the day while Cobb had a tournament-best 13 pars. Sasha Gardiner of King was the only player to shoot even-par on Par 5's while five players played even golf on the par 3's.

UNC Pembroke holds an eight stroke lead over Belmont Abbey who carded a first round 322. Erskine is one shot back of the Crusaders in third with a 323 followed by Emmanuel in fourth with a 324. North Greenville and Converse are tied for fifth at 327.

With the poor weather forecast for Tuesday's final round, the teams will play the second round beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4. Golfers will then begin the third round also on Monday with any remaining holes in the 54-hole tournament being completed on Tuesday, April 5. The championship awards ceremony will take place after the final round on Tuesday.
