Marek Chlup of North Greenville and Alex Hart of Barton Capture Conference Carolinas Baseball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Marek Chlup of North Greenville and Alex Hart of Barton have earned the weekly honors in Conference Carolinas baseball for the week ending April 3.
Chlup was selected as the Player of the Week, while Hart earned Pitcher of the Week accolades for the second time this season.
A redshirt junior from Cesky Dub, Czech Republic, Chlup powered the Crusaders’ 3-1 week as he hit .625 with a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .684 on-base percentage with 10 runs scored, six RBIs, one double, one triple and three home runs. He collected three multi-hit games and fell a single shy of the cycle in a win over Lander as he finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a walk. In a series win over UNC Pembroke Chlup went 7-for-11 with seven runs scored and four RBIs with two home runs and a pair of walks.
Hart, a senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, tossed a complete game with 13 strikeouts in the Bulldogs’ 7-3 conference win over Emmanuel. He allowed three unearned runs on three hits with a pair of walks and limited the Lions to a .100 average.
