Rankings Update: 13 Conference Carolinas Institutions Remain in National and Regional Rankings
GREENVILLE, S.C. – As the spring season winds down, Conference Carolinas teams continue to show well in both regional and national polls.
In the latest Off the Block Division II Men’s Volleyball Coaches Poll released this week Mount Olive remained No. 6 with 41 points while North Greenville held at No. 9 with 20 points. Belmont Abbey and King also received votes. The Off the Block poll is available here.
The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) unveiled the third set of championship rankings on April 6 and three Conference Carolinas institutions remain ranked in the top-10 led by Limestone at No. 6 followed by King at No. 9 and Converse at No. 10. The top eight teams in the final ranking will qualify for the 2022 NCATA National Championship Tournament. The 2022 NCATA Championship Bracket will be announced on Monday, April 11. In the April 1 Bushnell/Golfweek Men’s Division II Coaches Poll, Barton was ranked No. 21 with 104 points and Belmont Abbey was No. 23 with 76 points while Erskine and King received votes in the poll. The April 6 men’s Golfstat rankings have Barton at No. 17 with Belmont Abbey coming in at No. 19. The Bushnell/Golfweek poll is available here while the full Golfstat ranking is available

In women’s lacrosse, the Inside Lacrosse (IL) Women/Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Poll was released on April 4 and Mount Olive received votes in the poll which is available here.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released the eighth regular season poll of the year and North Greenville improved one spot to No. 11 with 270 points while UNC Pembroke came in at No. 24 with 49 points. NGU remained at No. 3 in the Southeast Region with 96 points, two spots ahead of the Braves at No. 5 with 66 points. Belmont Abbey is ninth in the region with 26 points. Collegiate Baseball also released their fifth regular season poll and North Greenville was ranked No. 6 with 200 points. On the track, the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the second Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) and Mount Olive was ranked No. 2 in the Southeast Region with 635.57 points. UNC Pembroke climbed two spots to No. 7 with 365.03 points while Belmont Abbey (10th, 247.52), Southern Wesleyan (11th, 231.55) and North Greenville (12th, 223.47) joined them in the top 15. Emmanuel was ranked 16th with 132.71 points followed by Lees-McRae (18th, 92.59), King (20th, 81.94), Erskine (23rd, 65.15), Barton (24th, 63.40) and Francis Marion (29th, .10).
The Trojans topped the Southeast Region in the women’s TFRI with 712.80 points but were not in the national rating. They were joined in the top 10 by Southern Wesleyan who moved up one spot to No. 4 (405.59), UNC Pembroke at No. 7 (334.23) and Belmont Abbey at No. 8 (329.58). North Greenville ranked 11th with 197.59 points followed by Converse (16th, 158.20), Lees-McRae (18th, 141.37), King (23rd, 87.03), Emmanuel (24th, 86.98), Erskine (25th, 85.98), Barton (27th, 49.06) and Francis Marion (30th, 2.58). The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the third Division II Men’s ITA Collegiate Tennis National Team Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. The rankings include the top 50 teams from around the country as well as the top 75 singles and top 50 doubles. In the men’s team rankings, Belmont Abbey took over as the top-ranked league program at No. 25 with a rating of 24.604 just ahead of Barton at No. 26 (24.114). Francis Marion came in at No. 38 with a rating of 18.148 while Mount Olive (47th, 13.563) and Emmanuel (52nd, 11.364) were also ranked. In the women’s team rankings, Mount Olive joined the poll at No. 62 with a rating of 9.476 while Francis Marion also jumped into the rankings at No. 68 (7.341). In the women’s singles, Alejandra Guerrero rejoined the rankings at No. 70 while the Mount Olive pair of Liza Voloshyna and Nele Weber were ranked No. 48 in the doubles rankings.
