Jaleal Hamlett of Mount Olive Selected Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Month for March

GREENVILLE, S.C. Jaleal Hamlett of Mount Olive has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for men’s outdoor track and field for March. 
 
The 2021-22 Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Field Athlete and Freshman of the Year, Hamlett earned the first men’s outdoor track & field Freshman of the Month with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. The Lynchburg, Virginia native finished second in the triple jump at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on March 17 with a mark of 14.78m (48-6), which is a provisional mark, tops in Conference Carolinas, second in the Southeast Region and 13th in NCAA Division II. 

He also won the triple jump at the 5th annual Adidas Trojan Challenge with a mark of 14.18m (46-6.25). He took seventh in the high jump (1.75m, 5-8.75) and eighth in the long jump (6.40m, 21-0).
