UNC Pembroke Opens Play at NCAA Division II South Regional

RESULTS | DAVIE, Fla. - UNC Pembroke, the 2022 Conference Carolinas women’s golf champion, carded an opening round 318 at the NCAA Division II South Regional at Grande Oaks Golf Club on Monday.
 
The par 71, 5,887-yard course played to an average score of 76.64 in round one with 86 birdies on the day. UNC Pembroke tallied 50 pars and four birdies as a team in the first round and were led by Conference Carolinas runner-up Toni Blackwell who carded a 77 with five pars and a birdie on the afternoon. 
 
Samantha DeBusk finished one shot back of her teammate with a 78 while Georiga Page, the 2022 Conference Carolinas Women’s Golfer of the Year, carded an opening round 80. Amanda Hamrin posted an 83 while Elizabeth Ritchie rounded out the team with an 84. 
 
Lynn leads the tournament with a first round 295, one shot better than Anderson and Saint Leo. Victoria Libaak (Columbus State), Francesca Santoni (Saint Leo) and Hanna Ahlander (Nova Southeastern) are tied atop the individual leaderboard with opening round 71s. 
 
The Braves will take to the course for round two on Tuesday, May 3 off the No. 10 tee beginning at 8:11 a.m. Live scoring is available here
