King, Francis Marion Ranked in Final NCAA Softball Southeast Region Rankings
GREENVILLE, S.C. – King and Francis Marion represented Conference Carolinas in the final NCAA Southeast Region Softball Rankings, which were released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
With the NCAA.com selection show on Monday, King, the 2022 Conference Carolinas co-regular season champions and tournament champions, is 41-15 on the season and were ranked fourth in the region. The Tornado have won 15 straight games and are hitting .310 and pitching to a 3.33 ERA.
Francis Marion was ranked eighth in the region with an overall record of 33-20. The fifth-seeded Patriots were the runners-up in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Championship to the Tornado, a 1-0 loss. Francis Marion is hitting .297 on the season but pitching to a 2.94 ERA.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee leading up to the NCAA Championship selections. The NCAA Division II softball selection show will be streamed at NCAA.com at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 9.
