Michaud, Olsson to Represent Conference Carolinas in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

SPARKS, Md. - The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced the rosters for the 2022 Senior All-Star games for Division I, II, and III and a pair of Conference Carolinas student-athletes from Mount Olive have been named to the South team. 

The players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South. The Senior All-Star games will be held on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Sunday, June 5, 2022. The Division III teams will play the first game at 11:00 am EDT, the Division I game will follow at 12:45 pm, and the Division II teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge. 

Meaghan Michaud and Chaija Olsson will represent the Trojans in the contest. Both earned First Team All-Conference Carolinas recognition this season. 

The two-time Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, Olsson led the Trojans from the center draw with a team-high 66 draw controls and 26 caused turnovers to go with 30 ground balls and three points on one goal and two assists. The 5-foot-8 redshirt senior defender from Snoqualmie, Washington, averaged 3.66 draw controls and 1.44 caused turnovers per game this season and helped the Trojans to allow just 39 goals in league play en route to a 9-0 record and the regular season and tournament championships.

A senior attack from Derry, New Hampshire, Michaud was dominant up front for the Trojans as she posted 65 points on 51 goals and 14 assists on the year. She averaged 2.68 goals per game and nearly one assist per contest.
