Conference Carolinas Returns to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for 2023 Basketball and Spirit Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Conference Carolinas will return to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on the campus of Wofford College for its 2023 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships and Spirit Championships.
 
Conference Carolinas will be holding its annual Basketball Championships at the first-class facility for the third time (2020, 2022 and 2023) overall. The Spirit Championships will be held for the second consecutive year, but for the first time in the main arena of Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
 
“This has become one of the most exciting events on our calendar each and every year,” Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “The ability to highlight six of our men’s and women’s basketball programs at the top-notch facility gives us a chance to showcase some of the best basketball student-athletes in all of Division II. Our first-ever Spirit Championships last year went incredibly well and we are thrilled to bring them to the main arena in 2023. We are overall just extremely excited to make March 3-5, 2023 a true celebration of all things Conference Carolinas.”
 
The 2023 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will have the same format as the previous year with six teams in men’s and women’s basketball advancing to Spartanburg.
 
The Championships will get underway on Sunday, Feb. 26 and Monday, Feb. 27. The fifth and sixth seeds in men’s and women’s basketball will play host to two games over the two days. The 10th-seeded team will battle the seventh-seeded team on Feb. 26 at the home of the sixth seed for the right to face the sixth seed on Feb. 27, while the ninth-seeded team will take on the eighth-seeded team at the home of the fifth seed on Feb. 26 for the chance to take on the fifth seed on Feb. 27.
 
The 2023 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships quarterfinals are set for Friday, March 3 at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The semifinals will be contested on Saturday, March 4, while the men’s and women’s basketball finals are scheduled for Sunday, March 5.
 
The second annual Conference Carolinas Spirit Championships will be contested on the morning of Saturday, March 4.
