Jackline Kosgei of UNC Pembroke Named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jackline Kosgei of UNC Pembroke was named Conference Carolinas women’s cross country Runner of the Week for the week ending Sept. 25. 

A sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, Kosgei helped the Braves to an eighth-place finish at the Queen City Invitational in the women’s invitational 5K. Her time of 18:20 was a personal-best and the fourth-fastest time in UNCP history. She averaged 5:54 per mile and was the top Conference Carolinas finisher at the event. The eighth-fastest NCAA Division II runner, Kosgei placed 13th overall.
