Lander to Host 2023 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship
GREENWOOD, S.C. – The 2023 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship will be held at Finis Horne Arena on the Lander University campus.
The third annual Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship will be held at a different venue for the first time in the history of the championship. King University hosted the inaugural championship in 2021 and then again in 2022.
“We are excited to continue to expand our footprint in the sport of acrobatics & tumbling,” Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “The first two years of this championship at King have been first-class and we know Lander will do a fantastic job working with us to provide an elite experience for our amazing acrobatics & tumbling student-athletes.”
The 2023 Conference Carolinas Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship will begin at host sites for the first time in the history of the championship with the third seed hosting the sixth seed and the fourth seed playing host to the fifth seed on Saturday, April 8 for the right to advance to the semifinals at Lander.
The semifinals will be contested on Saturday, April 15 at Lander with the two top seeds facing off against the winners of the quarterfinals. The No. 1 seed will face off against the winner of the #4-#5 matchup at 4 p.m. on April 15, while the second seed will take on the winner of the #3-#6 matchup at 7 p.m.
The team final of the 2023 Conference Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship at Horne Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 16. The Event Finals will be held earlier that morning at 11 a.m.
Conference Carolinas will have nine programs competing in acrobatics and tumbling in the 2022-23 academic year in Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Coker, Converse, Emmanuel, King, Lander, Limestone and Mars Hill.
