Conference Carolinas Trio Hold Spots in Recent Rankings
GREENVILLE, S.C. – With spring sports scheduled to begin the first week of February and several winter sports polls beginning again next week, Conference Carolinas continued to have three institutions represented in national and regional basketball polls.
The week eight NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) regular season media poll for men’s basketball continued to rank UNC Pembroke 14th nationally with 193 points while the Braves remained third in the Southeast Region with 48 points. Belmont Abbey and Francis Marion continue to receive votes in the region. The complete polls are available here.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) also released its eighth regular season poll and UNC Pembroke, who is 15-1 on the season and 7-1 in league play, remained at No. 13 with 212 points. The poll is available here.
In the eighth edition of the D2SIDA women’s basketball regular season poll, Belmont Abbey remained at No. 5 in the Southeast Region with 32 points. The Crusaders are 10-3 this season and 7-0 in Conference Carolinas action. The full poll is available here.
