Mount Olive Voted to Repeat as Women’s Tennis Champion

GREENVILLE, S.C.The Conference Carolinas women’s tennis head coaches voted on the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Preseason Poll and Mount Olive was selected to repeat as conference champion. 

The Trojans, who were a perfect 11-0 in Conference Carolinas play last season en route to a regular season and tournament championship, received 97 points and eight-of-11 first-place votes. Emmanuel and Erskine tied for second with 80 points with the Flying Fleet collecting two first-place votes while the Lions captured the final first-place nod. Belmont Abbey was picked fourth with 71 points while Francis Marion came in at No. 5 with 68 points.

Barton was chosen sixth with 59 points followed by Lees-McRae (51), Converse (41), North Greenville (26), Chowan (20) and King (12). 

The women’s spring season is already underway with conference play set to begin on Wednesday, March 8 with the conference championship set for April 21-23 at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center in Florence, South Carolina.
